Sylvia Kay Gracy's Obituary
On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Sylvia Kay Gracy, loving mother of two and grandmother of 6, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 70.
Sylvia was born January 15, 1952, in Houston, TX the daughter of Grover and Eleanor Stallings. She graduated from Pearland ISD, Class of 1970. Attended college to receive her LVN License.
She previously worked as an LVN, Dental Assistant and office manager for many years. Then she quit her 9 to 5 job and entered the world of Sales to become a Mary Kay cosmetics sales consultant. During her 20 years with Mary Kay cosmetics, she shined and thrived, earning many sales awards and several Mary Kay Red Grand AM vehicles!
Sylvia was a proud mother and grandmother! She was #1 fan of Elvis Presly and One Life to Live, her favorite soap opera show! We will never forget the life size Elvis Presly she made from plywood for yard decoration for Christmas, which she also played Elvis’s songs every night while on display for many years. It was even on the news one year. She used to make matching dresses for Teresa, Melissa, and herself for church and for many other occasions. Sewing was not the only thing she was great at, she enjoyed crocheting blankets also.
Sylvia Kay Gracy is survived by her children: Teresa Verdahl and her children Joshua & Anika, Melissa Landers and her children Sarah, Rachel, Chris, and James, siblings: Allen Stallings and Susan Prebilsky. Sylvia Kay Gracy was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Eleanor Stallings, husband Jerry Gracy, and brothers Gover Stallings and James Stalling.
