Robert, Mary, Aaron & Mary Ann -
Susan and I were high school friends. Life seemed to separate us, geographically, after our high school years but every time we saw each other during the years sine - it was like no time had passed. The last time we had a really good visit, the loss of your Dad was still fresh but she was forging ahead and spoke of how proud she was of you and your children. She still had that smile that could light up an auditorium. Susan and I were one of the five Susan's in our RRC circle who graduated from Reagan in 1968. We roomed together on the Redcoat Senior trip, and we were sitting together in the two-person chair on the ski lift accident in Rotan, NM. We had the good fortune of having our chair stop just over a boulder that meant we were only about ten feet high -- so we each jumped to the lift employee we stopped, as he ran down the hill. We were two of the first kids to get off the failed lift, and we were grateful to get down! Your mother is someone who will always hold a sweet and special place in my heart. She was a brilliant light in this world, and I always considered it my good fortune to have known and connected with her. Gone way too soon, I know she made a good life and was an enrichment to all who knew her. I know you must know how fortunate you were to have her as a Mom! I look forward to seeing her again one of these days. I will keep you-all in my prayers in the days ahead. My mother is almost 92 years old, and I cannot even imagine the hole that this loss leaves but we are assured that God never forsakes us in the good times and in the bad. God bless you all.
