Sunil Kumar Chaudhuri's Obituary
Sunil Chaudhuri, a mechanical engineer and life-long resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 18, 2021 at Methodist Hospital Sugar Land.
Sunil is survived by his wife, Krishna; two sons, Sudipta and Sumon; daughters-in-law, Sonya and Bindie; grandchildren, Ayva, Alena, Shalin, Ronan, and Kaian.
Sunil was born in 1936 in Kolkata, India to Santi Sadhan Chowdhury and Prarimal Sinha. He graduated from Hendon College of Technology London in 1963 later working in Frankfurt, Germany. On May 31, 1970, Sunil married Krishna, a Bengali honors student from Barrackpore who loved Bharatanatyam dance. On December 26, 1975 and November 28, 1978 respectively, he welcomed his two handsome sons, who were the most important part of his life.
From his young years, Sunil loved to dance and this love continued into his later years with ballroom dancing. The waltz was his favorite. Sunil enjoyed seeing the world, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures. Because of his adventurous nature, there was nothing he could not do. Sunil had an amazing sense of humor and loved to joke with his friends and family. He was also a problem solver who often took on difficult or unwanted projects at work and around the house. Sunil took great pleasure in teaching his sons independence, strength, and the beauty of nature and science. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who know him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Thursday, July 22 at South Park Funeral Home. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 1310 N. Main Street, Pearland, Texas 77581. The service is open to everyone.
