Sue Evans Smith's Obituary
Sue Evans Smith, 98, of Sugar Land, Texas passed away peacefully on the morning of May 24, 2025.
Sue was born Allie Sue Evans in Dyer County, Tennessee on June 5, 1926. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1943.
Sue married Wesley Thomas Smith, Jr. in 1945. They had one child and were divorced in 1948.
Sue’s working career lasted over fifty years and included time with Southwestern Bell, Houston Lighting and Power, Home Life Insurance Company, and Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Company where she retired as Office Manager of the local Life and Health Agency after thirty years of service. She enjoyed reading and a wide variety of arts and crafts. For many years she was active in her church as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Church Choir and Church Secretary.
Sue is survived by her great grandchildren, Lindsey and Brandon McElvany, her grandchildren, Ginny McElvany (Robert McElvany), Carolyn Smith and Donny Smith, her son Jim Smith, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Sue is preceded in death by her mother Luella Thompson Evans, her father James Victor Evans, her brother Charles Victor Evans and her sister Lenora Agnes Smith (nee Evans).
