Steven Bryan Johnson's Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Steven Bryan Johnson. Steve left us on March 20, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, and best friend to so many people, and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor, and faith.
Steve was born in Houston on March 6, 1959. Anyone who ever met him became an instant friend. Someone once said, “Steve always made me laugh and that’s how he will always be remembered.” Regardless of what was happening in a person’s life, Steve was able to help others experience joy, even in the most tragic moments.
Steve attended Cy-Fair Highschool where he kept in contact with many lifelong friends. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Steve loved his Texas Longhorns!
Upon graduation, Steve moved back to his hometown of Houston Texas where he worked in media and commercial real estate for many years. In Houston, he met his wife Jenny and together they shared over 32 years of a wonderful marriage and were blessed with two children, Amanda, and Travis whom he deeply loved.
Steve’s family was his top priority. He was the kind of dad who was always available for anything his family needed. Jenny used to tell others, “Steve was my better half and the joy of my life.”
Finally, Steve and Jenny celebrated their son Travis’ wedding last April up in Dallas. He and Jenny were thrilled to have Kayleyne, as their daughter-in-law join the family.
In addition to spending time with his family, several of his favorite activities included playing golf, fishing, and loved hunting with good friends. In fact, when the doves were scarce, Steve was known to orchestrate a “vegetable” shoot to keep things lively. He also enjoyed spending countless Thanksgiving celebrations with extended family, known as La Familia.
For over fifteen years, Steve and Jenny hosted a weekly Bible Home Group. Steve was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and was a fervent prayer warrior for both friends and family.
Steve joins his parents Ron and Georgia and sister Pam in heaven where they are living in the fullness of eternal life. He is survived by his wife Jenny, two children, Amanda and Travis, his niece and nephew, Brian and Laura, brother-in-law Charlie Dunn, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank everyone for their generous love and support through this very difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested to those interested in donating to:
