Spencer Levi Smith's Obituary
Spencer Levi Smith, 12, of Pearland, lost a fierce and courageous battle to cancer at home on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was born March 1, 2003 in Pasadena, TX to James and Laurel Moore Smith. He grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana until age 8. He moved back to Texas in 2011 and to Pearland, TX in 2013. He loved Legos, Star Wars, Dr. Who, crème soda, Coke ICEES, taquitos, writing and illustrating books, Pajamas, babies and most of all being at home. Spencer was a quirky, artistic, loving, loyal and creative child.
Spencer was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Adam Moore Jr. of Waco, TX and paternal Aunt, Sherri Smith-Cohn of Houston, TX. He is survived by his parents; sister, Kirsten (Scott) Jordan and nephew, Connor of Indianapolis Indiana; sister, Hannah Smith; brothers, James Smith, Jr. (Jesse), Bryce Smith and Nathan Smith all of Pearland, Texas; Aunt, Malia Moore of Garland, TX; Grandparents, Carol and Norman Smith of Pasadena TX and Phyllis I. Moore of Waco, TX. He is also survived by numerous, well- loved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and educators.
A special thank you to all of his doctors, nurses and support staff at Texas Children’s Hospital, and Houston Hospice and many friends who cared for him and his family during his illness.
A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3311 Southfork Dr., Pearland TX 77584. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3311 Southfork Dr. Pearland TX 77584. A reception will follow in the Hall also at the Church.
