Shumberg/Roe Services' Obituary
James “Jim” Michael Shumberg and Sheryl Ann Roe of Alvin Texas passed away, together, on February 11, 2016 in a plane crash off the coast of Destin, Florida. Jim met Sheryl in 1994 at an Eagles concert. They spent the next 22 years together enjoying travel and family. They were inseparable even in death.
Jim was born September 5, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Emil Shumberg and Deretta Smith, he graduated from Sam Houston State University and was the founder of Electrical Training, USA. Jim is survived by his son Ryan Michael Shumberg, his sisters Judy and Sidney, and numerous family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Sheryl was born January 2, 1956 in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, she was the first child of Max Edward Brewster and Vera Alice Booker. She received her Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine and Herbology and worked as an Acupuncturist with offices in Ft. Walton Beach and Navarre Florida.
Predeceased by her parents, Sheryl is survived by her 5 children; Joshua Lee Branam (Karry), Blu Jean Roe (Melissa), Carmen Mae Roe, Sibbian Roe, and Nadia Gonzales (Ronnie) and 7 grandchildren; Alek Roe, Kora Roe, Willow Emmons, Lillian Emmons, Oliva Nava, Gabriella Gonzales, and Gavin Gonzales. Sheryl also leaves behind a sister, Tina Brewster (Rosa), and brother, Charles Brewster, along with countless friends and colleagues.
Jim and Sheryl died doing what they loved most and would want everyone to remember the good times they shared with them.
A Memorial Service Celebrating the lives of James Shumberg and Sheryl Roe will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home.
