Shirley Jean Edgar's Obituary
Shirley Jean Edgar, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 in Pasadena, TX.
She was born on June 28, 1946 to Melvin and Betty Roberts in Houston, TX. She grew up in Pasadena, TX and attended Pasadena ISD schools.
Shirley is survived by her sister Molly (David) Angie; sister-in- law Edith (Jerry) Buzek; her nieces Tiffany (Larry) Wallace, Laura (Christopher) Smith, Lisa (Donnie) Hempel, Cindy (James) Stastny, Donna (Eddie) Miller, Brenda Utley, Mona Neely-Haynes, and Bobbie Sue Karm; as well as numerous great-nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and wonderful friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband DeWayne Edgar; parents Melvin and Betty Roberts; brother-in-law Marvin Edgar Jr.; sisters-in-law Margaret Finn, and Georgia Marsh.
Shirley performed secretarial work at NASA, as well as her husband’s company for many years.
She was a social, active woman who volunteered at her church, Sunset United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, playing games, and going on trips.
Shirley loved her family dearly and was a loving wife, aunt, and friend. Her family and friends will always remember her as a compassionate, humble, and resilient woman. She was a blessing to anyone who knew her.
A special thanks to the caregivers that have become friends and we will be forever grateful for their love. We have been blessed in many ways.
A graveside service for Shirley Edgar will be held on June 10 at 10am at:
South Park Funeral Home
1310 N Main St.
Pearland, TX 77581.
