Mrs. Sherly Kurien Scott's Obituary
Sherly Kurien Scott, 51, of Alvin, Texas, entered her heavenly home after a hard fought and courageous battle with breast cancer on June 18, 2019. Sherly was born January 16, 1968 in Bhopal, India, to Baby and Mary Kurien of Pearland, Texas.
Sherly met her husband, Cris Scott, at the University of Houston, while working on her nursing degree. They were married August 3, 1991, in Houston, Texas.
Sherly’s heart was big and her interests for God’s kingdom was even bigger. Over the years, she worked tirelessly in her church family, giving to various Christian charities and loving her neighbors, …… all while being a wonderful wife and mother, home-schooling nine children and showing the rest of us what being a Proverbs 31 woman looks like in the 21st century. She taught many lessons through her actions, responses and everyday living.
When her mission field moved to the cancer treatment facilities, her drive to spread the Gospel message and love of Christ only increased. Knowing God had chosen her for this mission she did her best to bring glory to God with every conversation and contact she encountered.
She is survived by her husband, Cris; children: Hannah, Stephen, Daniel, John, James, Caleb, Paul, Peter and Rebekah; her parents: Baby and Mary Kurien of Pearland, Texas; her siblings: Lovely and (Shaji) John of Denton, Texas, and Binoy and (Leena) Kurien of Pearland, Texas, 6 nieces and 2 nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
For those who knew Sherly, she truly was worth far more than rubies.
