Mrs. Shelia Arnold-Gonzales' Obituary
Shelia Nell Arnold-Gonzales, 53, passed away October 4, 2012. She was born May 31, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Patsy and TC Arnold. Shelia is survived by her husband John Gonzales, son Chance Arnold-Gonzales, step children Rachael Venable, Rebecca Gonzales-Hackle, Roxanne Gonzales, Robin Gonzales, sister Kay Azbil, nieces Amanda Allen and husband James, Ashley Underwood and husband Cody, grandnephews Tr, Jaden, Tristan, grandniece Dayanara, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Shelia is preceded in death by parents Patsy and TC Arnold, grandparents Leon and Nellie Fassy, Talmadge and Irene Arnold, and nephew Joshua. Shelia was a resident of Spring, Texas for many years, but her escape was always the ocean; she was always at Galveston when she could be. Before it was set on fire, she also enjoyed spending time at her parents' home on the lake in Tyler. From the day she was born, there were health struggles. Shortly after birth, she had to have a complete blood transfusion. These struggles continued throughout her life, but her faith in Jehovah brought her as far as it did against all odds. She was one of his special children, a natural born caregiver. She was always there if you needed her. Shelia took care of her parents, Nana, Uncle Buddy---well... she took care of just about everyone and their uncle. She also helped Aunt Joyce and Raydene after Darlene passed away, and touched many of us with her love, kindness, and humor. While taking care of her uncle at the VA hospital, Shelia met her husband, John, and shortly after discovered she was pregnant. The baby she was told she would never hold was on the way. The happiest day of her life was the day her precious Chance was born and no mother ever loved a child more. Shelia's biggest fear was not seeing him grow up, but she made it and she raised a fine, strong young man. Chance's Mom was a warm, witty, giving woman and she is loved and missed more than she would ever have imagined. In God's time, we will be together again.
