Saramma Koshy Thomas' Obituary
In loving memory of Mrs. Saramma Koshy Thomas (Bava). It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Saramma Koshy Thomas (Bava) on August 17, 2023. Born on October 6, 1944, in Kuzhikala, Kerala, India, she was the beloved second child of the late Kochumalayil Chummar Koshy and late Annamma Koshy. Hailing from a devout C.S.I. family, she found solace and purpose in her faith from an early age, accepting Jesus Christ into her heart at the tender age of 14.
At 17, her quest for knowledge led her to Nagpur, Maharashtra, where she pursued her passion for nursing. She then journeyed to New Delhi, where her dedication and compassion as a nurse shone brightly. It was during this time that she met and married the love of her life, Thomas K. Thomas (Babu), on April 20, 1972. Together, they embarked on a life filled with adventure and devotion.
In July of that same year, Bava and Babu set foot on American soil, making San Antonio, TX, their first home on this new continent. They later settled in Houston in 1974, where Bava's unwavering faith led her to a rededication of her life to Christ. This profound commitment culminated in her baptism on February 8, 1976, marking a significant milestone in her spiritual journey.
Babu and Bava's life was adorned with the blessings of three children: Bobby, Bibby, and Betsy. These blessings extended further as they welcomed their spouses into the family, lovingly referred to as "fun-laws.": Smitha, Kavitha, and Phinu. However, her true joy and purpose blossomed with the arrival of her 8 cherished grandchildren: Jaylen, Jared, Natalia, Micah, Jordyn, Anya, Nathaniel, and Ethan. Her dedication to them was immeasurable, as she nurtured and guided them through life's journey with unwavering love.
