Sara Ann Serrano's Obituary
Sara, 25, of Houston, TX passed unexpectedly on July 13, 2022. The family is
heartbroken and devastated by this loss.
Born on May 10, 1997 to loving parents Stacy Palacios and Salvador Serrano, Sara Ann
Serrano immediately filled the lives of those around her with joy, especially when
hearing her laugh. Sara graduated high school in 2015 and went on to pursue a degree in
business at Lone Star Community College. She loved working with children and worked
at Building Blocks Academy, where she was named teacher of the month many times.
She excelled in her work and showed so much love to her daycare kids.
She had a deep bond with her sisters, Brittney and Samantha, that cannot be explained
or duplicated. You could always expect laughing, roasting, loud talking and love when
they were together. She was a loving aunt to her nephews, Adrian and Gabriel, and
adored her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sara was engaged to Desi Mitchell.
Sara and Desi met their freshman year in high school. They loved arcades, anime and
spending quality time with each other and family. She was passionate about anime and a
firm believer that if you knew nothing about it, don’t attempt to make it look like you
did! She loved her cats and had a soft spot for animals. Her presence is sorely missed
and her loss is deeply felt.
Sara is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Roy and Bonita Serrano and her
maternal grandmother, Debra Lynn Hawkins. She is survived by her parents Stacy
Palacios and Salvador Serrano; sisters, Brittney Lopez and Samantha Serrano; fiancé
Desi Mitchell; step-father Cesario Palacios Jr. and step-sister and brother, Alyssa-Marie
Palacios and Giovanni Palacios; grandparents Charles and Sherlyn Shotwell, Linda and
Brett Clark; brother-in-law Jordan Lopez; nephews Adrian Madison and Gabriel Lopez;
and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family requests that flowers be sent to South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
