Santos Flores' Obituary
Santos Flores, 92, passed into eternal rest on June 1, 2020. He was born in Hitchcock, Texas on July, 19, 1927. Santos was one of eight siblings, four boys and four girls. He left school early at the age of sixteen to join the Merchant Marines for thirteen years, he also served our country in the Air Force for one year. Elia, the love of his life, became his wife in 1951 and together they raised their son Ruben. After leaving the Merchant Marines he did long haul truck driving for over thirty-five years and was a school bus driver for nine years in Pearland. Santos enjoyed flying remote control airplanes, building birdhouses, and telling his many stories.
Santos was preceded in death by his wife Elia Flores and son Ruben Flores. Left to cherish his memories are his son Ruben Flores and his wife Carmen Flores; grandchildren: Carmen Carrillo, Amy King, Bobby McDaniel, great-grandchildren: Khloe Carrillo, Angel Stapp, Aylia Stapp, Hadley Stapp, Marcus Stapp.
The family will receive friends and extended family for services at South Park Funeral Home at 1310 N. Main St. Pearland, Tx 77581. Visitation will be on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow after visitation Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at South Park with the interment to follow in South Park Cemetery.
