Mrs. Sandra Earlene Dodson's Obituary
Sandra Earlene Dodson was born January 20, 1937 in the small north Texas town of Goodlet. She was the only child of Earl and Elnora Clements.
She spent most of her life on the gulf coast after her family moved to Galveston. She attended Ball High School until her senior year. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1954.
The next year she married Erwin Dodson and they settled in LaPorte, Texas where they welcomed three children - Cynthia, Douglas and Gary.
Her family moved to Alvin, Texas in 1965 where she resided for the next 59 years. Through the years she was a book keeper for the Furniture Outlet and later for Sears. She held her last job with Alvin Decorating in the late 80s.
She was a kind, good-hearted Christian woman who in her life developed many friendships that lasted until her final day. Among her closest friends were Rene Mason, Ruth Ann Stutzman, Lillian King and Kay Magness.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alvin and was a fixture of the Alvin community.
Her most notable characteristics were a loving, caring and compassionate personality that was usually accompanied by a big, beautiful smile. She quite literally never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband Erwin Dodson, her daughter Cindy, her son Douglas as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
