Sallie Ann Craig, a beloved soul whose journey touched many, peacefully passed away on August 14, 2023, in League City, Texas. Born on September 1, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Sarah Elizabeth Colner Allen and Frank Colner, Sallie's life radiated with the warmth of love, the strength of determination, and the grace of faith.
Sallie's life story began in the heartland of America, where she was raised in the embrace of her family. As she matured, her kindness and intelligence shone brightly, leaving a lasting imprint on those she encountered. Her educational path in Pasadena brought her to a divine encounter that would set the course for her life's journey.
During those pivotal years, Sallie crossed paths with Elige Felix Craig. Their love story blossomed, culminating in a union on September 26, 1953, guided by God's providence. Their early years together were marked by Felix's military service, a chapter that took them to Germany as he served in the Army.
Together, Sallie and Felix built a life that not only flourished in business but also left a meaningful impact on their community. With unwavering dedication and a spirit of diligence, they co-founded Air Specialist Inc., an HVAC company in Houston, Their shared efforts embodied their commitment to excellence and ethical business practices.
While Felix and their sons, Bobby and Billy, took care of the company's operations, Sallie played a vital role in overseeing the office. Her organizational skills and unwavering support were foundational to the company's successes. In both business and family, Sallie's steadfastness was a source of strength.
Sallie's love extended beyond her professional life. As a mother, she nurtured her sons with devotion, imparting values of faith, hard work, and integrity. Her love provided a firm foundation that supported the family through challenges and triumphs. Sallie and Felix shared a passion for exploration, often embarking on adventures in their motorhome, and their shared love of music and dance reflected their joyful spirits.
Sallie Ann Craig's legacy lives on through her family, her community, and the cherished memories held by all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith will be remembered with fondness. As we say goodbye to a beloved wife, mother, and businesswoman, we celebrate the positive influence she had on the lives she touched.
A service to celebrate Sallie's life will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside service and committal at the SouthPark Funeral Home & Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their respects.
Sallie is now reunited with her husband of 69 years, Elige Felix Craig (dec.4/15/2014), together forever in the arms of the Lord. She leaves behind two sons and their spouses, Robert Felix Craig and wife Karen, and William Randall Craig and wife Gwen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cheryl Lavender, Michelle Craig, Josh Maropis, Nick Rankin, Teddy Rankin as well as ten great-grandchildren, Alex, Zachary, Dalton, Shelbie, Katie, Brayden, Ethan, Elia, Taylor, Rayanna and numerous nieces and nephews. Her surviving siblings include JoAnne Scroggins, Kathy McMillan and Joe Bill Allen.
Sallie Ann Craig's spirit will forever live on, a testament to the abiding power of love, family, and a life enriched by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family will receive guests at SteamBoat Bills for light snacks from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
