Ryan Kannappan, CFA, 53, of Houston, Texas, passed away at Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital on April 26, 2026.Born on April 14, 1973, in Houston, Ryan was the beloved son of Sam and Meena Kannappan. He grew up in a close family alongside his siblings — Ramesh, Abirami, and Ram — who remained an important part of his life.Ryan thrived in academic settings. In high school he was a National Merit Scholar and the Maryland Finalist for the Citizen Bee. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, completing his studies through the Honors College. He went on to build a long and respected career in finance as a valuation expert, earning the distinguished Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. His accomplishments reflected his quiet strength, sharp intellect, and discipline.A lifelong learner, Ryan enjoyed studying history, Roman and Greek classics, economics, and world affairs. He was an avid reader who closely followed global news and its influence on finance, politics, and the broader economy. His curiosity and thoughtful insights were well known to those around him.Ryan is survived by his parents and siblings.
