Mrs. Ruth Brem Zainfeld's Obituary
In 1953 Ruth Rosa Brem left her home in Lucerne, Switzerland to travel to Texas and marry Nathan Zainfeld, Jr. Ruth changed her name to Ruth Brem Zainfeld and became a US citizen. Together they raised five children, Rebecca Anna, David Emil, Richard Joseph, Vivian Annette, and Amber Ludovika. Ruth is survived by her husband, four of her five children, 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her large family, Ruth was known for compassionately caring for a menagerie of animals - birds, dogs, cats, monkeys, horses, cows, fish, turtles, snakes, lizards, rodents, and more. She trained and showed dogs and miniature horses for many years all across the State of Texas. She was a published author and a glass artisan, creating glorious adventures in stained glass. Over the years, Ruth knitted and crocheted elaborate, colorful, and intricately designed keepsakes for her entire family. She was an extraordinarily intelligent and talented woman. Members of her family mourn the lost chances to experience comfort, love, and compassion with Ruth as wife, mother, and grandmother. As this door closes and we turn the page to a new chapter in our family's history, we say good-bye to this woman who so deeply touched us all. Her life etched tracks into our hearts that will influence our life paths and ultimately influence the direction of many generations to come. We loved her and we will miss her. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Houston Hospice in honor of Ruth.
