MS. Ruth Mary Louise Palmer's Obituary
Ruth Mary Louise Meyer Palmer, 81, went home to eternal peace on November 25, 2008. Blessed with a generous heart, Ruth often used her creative spark to brighten the lives of her loved ones. She was "a cheerful giver" whose easy laugh and twinkling eyes spoke of her love for life. A long time Alvin resident, Ruth moved to Palestine after the passing of her husband and soul mate, Robert A. Palmer, in 2005. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Stone, of Lubbock; her daughter Patsy Laufer and husband Buddy, of Pearland; her son Darrell Hall, Sr. and wife Gail, of Palestine; her daughter Barbara Birdwell and husband Bill, of Palestine; and her son Mike Hall and wife Tina, of Houston. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
When someone needed to laugh but couldn't, she could get them laughing. When someone needed hope but couldn't find it, she could find it for them. Her great capacity for love could always find a way. She will be dearly missed.
A Celebration on Life service will be at 1 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2008, at SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. Please visit www.southparkfunerals.com to sign the family guest book. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Ruth's name may be made to Home Place Hospice, Tyler, in gratitude for their dedicated and gentle care.
