Russell Dean Pinckard's Obituary
Russell (Rusty) Dean Pinckard was born on December 13, 1955 in Cortez, Colorado. He passed on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in Houston, TX. Russell was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and friend to many. Russell was raised in Broken Bow Oklahoma, where he attended Idabel High School. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University and went on to serve in the US Air Force.
A loyal and selfless man, Russell was always eager to help anyone in need from his neighbors to family and friends. Russ rarely, if ever, said no to those in need. Volunteering was a joy for him. From coaching little league baseball and football to serving on the board of his HOA. He loved being a part of the Sunshine Kids organization, taking the kids and their families out on fishing trips.
The outdoor life and staying active was something he truly loved. He took great pride in his lawn and working with his wife each weekend to keep it as perfect as they could get it. Camping, fishing, golf, motorcycle riding, snow and water skiing were just a few of his favorite past times. Though fishing and his boat was certainly his passion. He loved his home in San Leon. Being on the water, he was able to spend more times with his family and their little ones fishing off his dock or canoeing out solo in calm waters to bring home some dinner. He loved the palm trees against the sunsets there, watching them with his wife ruffle and sway in the breeze. He instilled a core value in his family of appreciating nature and all of God’s creatures big and small. He would even save the honey bees from his pool.
Family was also his passion. He loved having a house full of extended family over for the holidays. Crowded birthday and swimming parties, gave him the chance to be the family clown. Christmas gatherings gave him a chance to lovingly read ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas to his son and daughter, nieces and nephews. A family tradition.
As the family grew both in ages and size, he wanted to start a new tradition, having all brothers and sisters in law, his nieces and nephews, their new growing families, and his kids and granddaughter, over for Thanksgiving dinners. The first dinner had the house busting at the seams. He wouldn’t have had it any other way. This was Rusty. This was our father. This was Alma’s husband. And this, this was his little princess-granddaughter’s Gwampi. We will miss him dearly. We were such a blessed and lucky lot for having him in our lives.
He is preceded in death by Parents: Mother, Lenora Anne Pinckard; Father, Howard Pinckard; and Sisters Michelle White and Kelly Pinckard.
Russell is survived by Wife, Alma Leticia of San Leon TX.; Daughter Teresa Nicole of La Porte TX.; Son, Russell Aaron and Granddaughter, Reagan Ashlynn, both of Deer Park TX.; Brother, Kimball of Idabel OK; many nieces and nephews; and Brothers in Laws and Sisters in Laws
