Mr. Russell Alton Jones' Obituary
Mr. Russell Alton Jones, born November 24, 1935 in Rusk, TX passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Russell graduated from Rusk High School class of 1954. Russell proudly served in the National Guard and entered the US Navy in December 1955 and was discharged in December 1959 as a 2nd class Petty Officer. He served as an electrician on destroyer tender. Russell worked in the oil industry as a salesman of production equipment for Redman Pipe and Supply and Wilson Supply. He was also a member of Crossroad UMC, Houston.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents Alton and Opal Jones, 2 sisters, Madeline Simpson and Virginia Young and lifelong friend Joe T. Hugghins. He is survived by his wife Sandra Gaidosek Jones, children, David Garner and Patti and Darren Garner and Joan, Jana Benedick and Daniel and Russell Jones, sister and nephew, Francis Tullis and Gary Tullis, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Southpark Funeral Home 1310 North Main St. Pearland, TX 77581. Funeral Services will be held 12:30 PM, Monday, May 16, 2016 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Southpark Cemetery.
