Ruby Nell Fletcher's Obituary
Ruby Fletcher was born October 1, 1954 to Allen Baker Sr. and Pearl Haynes Baker in Beaumont TX. She was one out of eleven siblings. She graduated from Hebert High School and went to Lamar University where she became a Registered Nurse. Caring for and helping people was her passion. She meet and married Ed Christopher Lee Sr. and was blessed with three beautiful children. She had one son and two daughters She raised them to love and fear God. She showed her children that in God you can go through and conquer anything.
She gave her life to Christ on December 12, 1987 at Houston Full Gospel Holy Temple Church. While being a member of the church she served faithfully in the Ministry. She also attended All Nations Ministry. She had a passion for the Youth Ministry as well as the Nursing Home Ministry. She was always excited about sharing the Word of God with whomever she met. Ruby loved God’s people. She was willing to always help those that were in need. She opened her home to countless people. Everybody was welcomed. Young or old. There were times she would get sick in her body, but she never stopped trusting in the Precious name of the Lord. She knew that God specializes in things that are impossible.
On October 8, 2020, she was called from her earthly home to her heavenly home to be with her Creator. Ruby was preceded in death by her father Allen Baker Sr. and mother Pearl Haynes Baker, and god mother Villa Mae Cox.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sisters, Joann Cheetham (James); Gloria Baker; Barbara Cooper (Anthony); Josephine Baker. Brothers, Allen Baker Junior; Michael Baker; Theo Baker (Latonya); Leo Baker; Donald Baker; Rodney Baker (Tasha) one son Ed Christopher Lee Jr (Donna); two daughters Aretha McKinney and Miranda Fletcher. Seven grandchildren Matthew McKinney, Thomas McKinney, Jeremiah McKinney, Christopher Dupar, Ashley Frances and Christian Frances. Seven great grandchildren Amari McKinney, Jeremiah McKinney Jr., Tor’i McKinney, Alexis Williams, Ariel Williams, Addison Williams, Anthony Williams. Her favorite Aunt Shirley and favorite Uncle Harold and Godfather Deacon Fred D. Cox. She also left behind a host of relatives, friends, and church family that loves her dearly.
One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 121:1-2 “I will lift mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
She has sung her final song down here on earth that say’s “Swing down sweet chariot stop and let me ride”. God saw fit to open the chariot’s door and say “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter into the joy of the Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
