Ruben Hernando Vargas' Obituary
Ruben Hernando Vargas passed away in the afternoon on January 11,2021 in Houston, Tx (In a local Hospital). He was born in Houston, Texas on February 15,1949. He was the youngest of four children born to Marcelino Vargas and Maria Ignacia Ceballos (Alicia Riojas Morales, dec’d, Maria Elena (Nena) Fernandez, dec’d, Frances Vargas Velasco (David). He was married to Maria Cruz Marisa Ugalde for 47 years.
He is survived by his son Valentin Vargas (Claudia)and four Grand Children (Andrew, Matthew, Jonathan Valentin and Izabella Zulay). He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Man of God and a Devoted and Proud Grand Father. He graduated from Charles H. Milby High School (Class Of ’68).
At the age of 18, Ruben became Licensed Barber and began working at his Father’s business (Vargas Barber Shop). In 1975, Ruben graduated from University of Texas at Austin (Bachelor of Art Degree). In 1978 he graduated from University of Houston (Master of Social Work).
Ruben joined The United State Air Force and served from 1975-1983.He was commissioned as Captain Ruben H.Vargas in the United State Air Force Reserve in 1992. In 1983 Ruben was granted with a certificate as the advance Interrogation Course for the United State Air Force Intelligence Reserve. Ruben continued his career and receive a Texas Teacher Certificate (Provisional Sociology, Spanish and Driver Educator).
He enjoyed driving his Classic cars (GTO and Pontiac Firebird), Flying and astronomy. He enjoys taking vacations with his loving wife. Ruben will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
