Hawthorne, Roy's Obituary
He was born May 12, 1951, in Sarepta, Louisiana to Mr. Willie B Hawthorne and Mrs. Melvia B. Hawthorne. His parent and one sister, Lorene Hawthorne preceded him in death.
Roy accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. He united with Greater Saint Matthew Baptist Church in November 2002.
On November 10, 1973, he was united in holy matrimony with Shirley Phillips. To this union he was blessed with one son Miklos J. Hawthorne, wife Angela Hawthorne and one daughter Lila M. Hawthorne. Seven grandchildren, Deon D. Jenkins, Miklos J. Hawthorne, Jr., Alani Fisher, Dominic Pickett, Heaven Pickett, Andrew J. Hawthorne and Kyla A. Pratt, all of Houston, Texas.
He leaves to cherish his memories four (4) brothers, Troy L. Hawthorne of Springhill, Louisiana, Gene A. Hawthorne of Cullen Louisiana, Archie G. Hawthorne and Tommy Hawthorne of Cotton Valley, Louisiana. Four (4) sisters, Diane Willis, Alice Robinson of Cullen Louisiana, Annette Landon of Houston, Texas and Bernice Eason of Bradley, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins and other relatives and friends.
Roy was an outspoken man who loved talking to everyone. He loved sports, horseback riding, riding his motorcycle and his job as a professional truck driver for over 30 plus years.
