Roy Ernest Del Bello's Obituary
Roy Earnest DelBello
“Butch”
Roy Ernest Del Bello, 80, peacefully passed away in his home in Manvel, Texas on February 27, 2021. He was born to Angelo and Angelina Del Bello on May 19, 1940.
Roy is survived by his loving family: wife of 59 years, Carolyn; his children Terry and Jeff Antoniuk, Glen and Tricia Del Bello; Jeff Del Bello and fiancé, Dawn Gilmore. He is survived by his grandchildren: Aidan Antoniuk and Tate and Libby Del Bello. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Kennedy, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gene Del Bello and Fred Del Bello.
Roy graduated from Alvin High School in 1958. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas where he graduated in 1963. He worked for 40 years with Tenneco, where he was beloved of his colleagues and co-workers. He loved his job and He always came to work with a smile and a tic-tac. His office door was always open to help or just to say hi. He was dependable, hard-working and fun all in one and this made him the man to see if you had a problem or needed to find solution.
But……Roy had another life, separate from his professional life, his farm life. Based on the things he learned as a child living on his parents’ dairy farm (one being a short stint as a grape-stomper to make the home-made wine) he transitioned these skills to the family run Del Bello Cattle Company, Inc. After his retirement, (and because you can’t take the country out of the boy) he and his brothers Gene and Fred, started a hay business.
Roy was a man of integrity, honesty and generosity. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He now embarks on his next big adventure with his loving Heavenly Father and we know that he is filled with joy and peace. We will miss you Roy, husband, brother, father and grandfather. We will carry on your right and true legacy.
