Ms. Rosemary Bruner's Obituary
Rosemary Demecs Bruner, of Pearland, Texas, was born on August 26, 1929. A native of Akron, Ohio, she graduated from San Jacinto High School after the family's move to Houston. She is survived by; sister-in-law, Judy Demecs Navarro; nephews, Steven Demecs and wife, Traci Demecs, Matt Demecs and wife, Misty; niece, Cynthia Smiley and husband, Bob Smiley; cousin, Tracy Moody; aunt, Sophie Imhoff; great nephews, Calvin Smiley, Marshall Smiley and wife, Brooke; great nieces, Bonnie Smiley and Anna Demecs. Rosemary was preceded in death by; parents, Steve Demecs and Mary Demecs; brother, Richard Demecs and R.D. Bruner. Rosemary's recent membership included Unity Church, Bay Area Choir, Pearland Friends of the Library, the meditation group she facilitated and her exercise class at Pearland U.M.C. Rosemary and R.D. lived in England before returning to Ohio and later Houston, where she obtained an education degree from University of Houston. Her teaching experiences included elementary schools in Ohio, Houston ISD and Pearland ISD. She took delight in her beach house dubbed Little Blue, in Galveston and enjoyed reading, travel, music, dancing, visiting with friends and family.
Visitation will be held at SouthPark Funeral Home, 1310 North Main St., Pearland, TX 77581 at 1:30PM on Mon., April 21, 2014, with Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00PM. Following the burial at adjacent cemetery, all are invited to a reception at Pearland United Methodist Church, 2314 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Pearland Library, 3522 Library Dr., Pearland 77581, Houston PBS or local SPCA.
