Mr. Ronald James Escagne's Obituary
Ronald “Ronnie” James Escagne went to his eternal rest on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 8:18 AM. Ronald was born on October 6, 1942 to Irving and Hazel Escagne. One of five children, Ronald excelled as a baseball pitcher in his youth. Ronald proudly served in the United States Navy from June 1960 to October 1963 and attained the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (E-5). Following his active duty service, Ronald served in the Naval Reserves until June 1966 when he was honorably discharged. He worked as an operator for Exxon, retiring after 30 years of service.
Ronald had two children, Elizabeth “Liz” Vaughn Escagne Garcia and Ronald James Escagne II. Pawpaw Ronnie, as he was affectionately known, had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one of his favorite activities in retirement was spending time with them. He truly enjoyed hearing about their accomplishments, often saving newspaper clippings and awards. Ronald loved sports and was happy to talk about his local teams’ successes.
