Roman Casas Gomez, 80, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Pearland, Texas. He was born November 9, 1940 in Mexico to parents, Rafaela and Socorro Gomez.
Roman was preceded in death by his mother, Rafaela Casas Gomez; and father, Socorro Gomez.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 59 years, Margarita Gomez; seven children, Josefina Perez and husband Sergio Perez, Angel Gómez and wife Laura Gomez, Maria Aguilar and husband Hector Aguilar, Jesus Gómez and wife Daymi Gomez, Janie Granados and husband Rigoberto Granados, Marilyn Gomez, Roman Gomez and wife Beatriz Gomez-Arzate; twenty-five grandchildren, Sergio Perez Jr., Janet Perez-Larios and husband Carlos Larios, Thomas Perez, Elias Gomez and wife Thelma Gomez, Celeste Gomez, Benjamin Gomez, Joaquin Gomez, Antonio Granados, Jorge Granados and wife Vanessa Granados, Michael Melgar, Ashley Melgar, Dayami Frías and husband Miguel Frias, Irvin Alvarez, Alexander Gomez, Mariel Granados, Diana Granados, Aileen Granados, Noe Gomez, Estevan Gomez, David Gomez, Juan Antonio Gomez Arzate, Norma Angelica Gomez Arzate, Brenda Beatriz Gomez Arzate, Angel Damian Gomez Arzate, Jovita Guadalupe Gomez Arzate; nineteen great grandchildren, Jorge, Heilyn, Jaylah, Justin, Julian, Baby Granados, and Jose, Melemarie, Nathan and Nayeli, Ailin Natividad Gomez Monroy, Alison Vanessa Gomez Monroy, Lizabeth Hernandez Gomez, Dana Isabel Vera Gomez, Alan Mateo Vera Gomez, Roman Uriel Gomez Arzate, Ariel Josue Gomez Arzate, Sonia Beatriz Lima Gomez; three sisters, Maria de Jesus Gomez Briones, Teresa Gomez, Paula Guevara; three brothers, Miguel Gomez, Roberto Gomez, Paulo Hernandez; as well as a host of friends and other family members.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM; a funeral service at 2:00 PM at SouthPark Funeral Home, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas 77581; with a burial to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
