Rojelio-Roger Rolando Guillen, the oldest of 10, an honorable Vietnam veteran, and a true patriot, passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 79. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his country.
Roger was born in Weslaco, Texas. Rojelio, fondly known as Roger or Sergeant, was the son of Pedro and Francisca Guillen. His early years were marked by a strong sense of duty and responsibility, qualities that would later define his remarkable service in the United States Marines.
Rojelio proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, completing two tours of duty with bravery and distinction. His unwavering dedication to the principles of freedom and justice earned him numerous commendations and accolades, reflecting his commitment to the values he held dear.
Beyond his military service, Rojelio was a loving and caring family man. He cherished the moments spent with his relatives, creating enduring memories. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Roger will be deeply missed by his siblings, Frances, Raul, Reynaldo, Ramiro, Pedro, Linda, MaryJane, Ricky, and Daniel. Including the many friends, he made in his lifetime. Rojelio's impact on the lives of those around him is immeasurable, leaving a void that cannot be filled. He was caring and giving to those around him.
Services to celebrate Rojelio's life will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at South Park Funeral Home, Pearland, Texas. Friends and family are invited to come together to share their memories, offer support, and pay tribute to a man who selflessly served his nation and brought joy to the lives of those he touched.
As we mourn the loss of Rojelio Rolando Guillen, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him.
