Mrs. Roberta K. Hoefar's Obituary
Roberta Kay Hoefar entered the Lord’s Paradise on December 23, 2018 at the age of 75 years old. She was born May 28, 1943 to Mae Buettgenbach Palmer and Harold Palmer in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Larry Williams in 1962, and the couple raised four children together. Later, she married Jimmy Hoefar and was step-mother and step-grandmother to his children.
Roberta attended San Jacinto College and earned an Associates Degree in Business and managed several businesses throughout her career. She retired from Air Products & Chemicals as an Administration Team Lead in the Data Entry group. She loved working with her co-workers and customers and being helpful to those who needed her.
She lived life to the fullest and was always a positive person with a strong faith in the Lord. In her early years, “Bert” was very athletic; she enjoyed her years playing volleyball, basketball, and continued to play softball and bowl throughout most of her life. Loving to travel, Bert and her longtime companion, Al, took many road trips in their RV while visiting 48 states. She loved and enjoyed so many things including animals - especially Boxers, playing games with her family and friends, gardening, fishing, hunting, boating, reading, and country music. “Bert” was a great country & western dancer and a true romantic who loved watching Hallmark movies especially during the Christmas season.
“Granny Bert,” as she wanted to be known, will always be remembered by her four loving children: David Williams, Laura Webb, Diane Rogers, and Robert Williams, Her beloved friend Albert Fickeissen, and sister Dorothy Pavel. She is survived by these and fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her two brothers: Ray Palmer and Roger Palmer.
Our mother will always be loved and dearly missed by all those who were touched by her strong and caring presence. May she rest in peace.
“Berts” celebration of life will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Moose Lodge located at 3919 Pansy St. in Pasadena, TX.
