Mr. Robert F. Margerum's Obituary
Robert F. Margerum was a wonderful husband and giving father. He married Doris M Herzik in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1990. They are survived by son Terry and wife, Christine, son Michael and wife, Kathy and by his daughter Mary Kay Massie. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Christina, Angela (husband Ryan), Michael, Thomas, and Sean, and great grandchildren Abigail and Anthony. He was raised on a truck farm in Pennsylvania. He served our country in WWII as a Navigator in a B17 named ”I’ll Get By”. His bombing missions took him over France on D-Day and later to North Africa and ultimately Italy before coming home. After returning he married Doris whom he had met while she was active in the USO. He worked several jobs in order to care for his family while earning a degree from the U of H. After graduation he worked in the steel industry for several years and in 1966 founded Romar Pipe and Rail Company. He ran a very successful business and had the respect of many in the industry. He remained active in the business until 2012. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
