Robert M. Hardy's Obituary
Robert M. Hardy, 70, passed away suddenly on September 3, 2020. Robert was born at
St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Pasadena, Texas. He attended Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas, and graduated in 1967. He is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie, daughter Shay Butts & husband Joey, son Jeremy D. Hardy, grandchildren-Alexandra Blalock & husband Aaron, Andrew Escamilla, and Jacob Butts, sister Cyndi Hardy Coco, sisters-in-law Renee Barker and Vicki Barker, and their children. There are numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Linda Ramey Howell.
Robert was in the Air National Guard and worked at Ellington Air Force Base on the ejection systems of the fighter planes stationed there. He was a chemical inspector for many years before pursuing the work passion of his life...buying and selling vintage & antique pieces at trade shows. This is where he met the love of his life, Debbie, and they started an estate sale business, D&R Estate Liquidations. Robert could be seen twice yearly at Antique Week at Warrenton, Texas, visiting with old friends, new customers who fast became old friends, and riding around in his golf cart perusing wares for the next show. He will be sorely missed at that venue.
Robert loved hunting, fishing, and camping. When his children were young they thought the only place to vacation was “the river”. He traveled extensively and leaves many friends behind in numerous locations.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Eulen M. Hardy, mother Hesper Leger Melancon, daughter Jamie, several aunts and uncles, and the devoted pet, Skittles, who was also his traveling buddy.
Robert never met a stranger and when working the many shows and antique venues that he and Debbie displayed at, he was always seen with a smile on his face. He leaves a legacy of friends in almost every state that truly became loved like family.
We will miss you, Robert, but we know that the pain is gone and you are rejoicing with those who left before you in Heaven. You fought the good fight! Now rest.
There will be a celebration of life at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St. Pearland, Tx, on September 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a gathering/lunch at Steamboat Bill’s to share stories and reminisce.
