Robert Lee Earnest's Obituary
We are here to celebrate the home going of Robert Lee Earnest. He was born in May 17, 1945, in Knox, Indiana to Robert Louis Earnest and Loretta Lera Dickson. He grew up on the farm with his brother, Richard and his sister, Nancy Jo harvesting crops and getting into mischief. He met Carolyn Grant in 1974 while she was visiting in Indiana and they fell in love, got married, and moved to Texas. Soon they found out they were expecting their first child, Michael. Robert was also drafted into the Army around that time. He was a Medic and was honorably discharged. Coming out of the Army he worked in a paper plant in Houston until he was hired at Goodyear rubber plant. He worked there for 30 years. During that time he had two more children, Jennifer and Charity. He started his own business, Earnest Home Improvements, carried out many projects for Pearland Tabernacle and Barnetts while they attended church there. Later the Gurley's took over and it became First Church of Pearland. He helped coordinate and build it from the ground up. He retired from Goodyear in 1997. He and Carolyn then began to attend Greater Life Church. He continued to do side jobs and projects until Carolyn became sick. Then he devoted all his time to caring for her until the day of her passing in 2019. Life without her was almost unbearable for him. At the age of 76 he said goodbye to this world and went to be with her again on the other side on October 24, 2021. He is survived by his three children, five grand children, and two great-grand children. He is free!
