Mr. Ricky Ray Sutton's Obituary
Ricky Ray Sutton, 72, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at UTMB Hospital in Galveston. Ricky was born in Louisville, Kentucky to M. Irene Bishop and Howard Sutton. He graduated from Louisville Male High School where he served in the Jr. ROTC and bowling team.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Vietnam War and met his wife of 49 years who also worked for the Air Force. He then served at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he was a Staff Sergeant. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious service.
After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he moved his family to Houston and worked in the banking industry and then retired from UTHealth where his wife and two daughters also worked.
Over the years, he enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, woodworking, computers, fish aquariums, rebuilding cars, gun collecting and more.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Ky (Nguyen) Sutton; daughters Kim Edmonsond of Pearland, Crystal Sharp and her husband Kevin of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Kailen and Jordan (children of Kim), Clayton and Olivia (children of Crystal/Kevin) and his beloved dog, Shero. Ricky is preceded in death by his mother, M. Irene Bishop and his stepfather, Wayne Bishop.
