Mr. Richard Gaines Wooderson's Obituary
Richard Gaines Wooderson, 51, passed away on March 7, 2019 at his home in Clute, Texas following a 15-month battle with glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer. Richard was born on July 12, 1967 to Ralph and Susan Wooderson in Huntsville, Texas. He moved to Pearland with his family at the age of 9 where he attended Pearland schools.
At the age of 17, he went to work for Texberry Containers, and in the mid-eighties, he began his career of over 30 years as an Air Condition Service Technicianat Chill-co, Inc., working until September 2018.
Richard loved cars and could often be found working on them with several close friends. He had a knack for fixing things, especially anything with a motor, but he also had skills in a variety of other areas. He had good intuition in anticipating problems. He enjoyed games and was always up to challenge anyone on just about anything. He spent much time with family playing dominoes and cards and loved going anywhere he could play some games, including casinos and carnivals. He was known to have a big heart and was quick to offer help, never expecting anything in return. Although he did not have any biological children, he was a devoted father to each of his 7 step children and loved them dearly.
Richard is survived by his wife, Diona Wooderson, and step-sons Hayden, Isiah, and Kendal Lassiter all of Clute, TX; step-children Mack Gasque, wife Angela and children Makayla and Noah; Michael Martin, wife Amba and children Matthew and London; Sarah Miller, husband Ricky and children Kaylee and Maddox; and Bobby Martin; sister Linda Wooderson; brother Ralph Wooderson; nephew Joey DeMicco; and nieces Gina Wooderson, Debbie Wright, Gloria Mireles, Samantha Ontiveros, Anna DeMicco, Angela DeMicco, Stefanie Wooderson, Katelyn Iribarren and their families, as well as a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Steven.
