Obituary for Richard Petersen
Richard Petersen, 47, of Loraine, passed away on July 12, 2025 in Houston, Texas.
Viewing will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday July 31st at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland Texas.
Funeral services will be held 10 am Friday, August 1, 2025 at South Park Funeral Home with Todd Petersen of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, officiating. Who is also Richard’s oldest brother. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by South Park Funeral Home.
Richard was born in Houston, Texas to Robert Charles Petersen and Coralee Petersen on Februray 9, 1978. Richard went to Angleton ISD through 9th grade and attended El Campo High School for the final 3 years of high school. Richard married Karen Petersen on December 18, 2004 in Lake Jackson, Texas and were sealed to each other on April 15, 2006 for all time and eternity in the Dallas Texas Temple. Richard was medically retired as a Correctional Officer after working for TDCJ 10 years. He worked for many companies prior to corrections but his favorites were working for his brother at the physical rehab in Dallas, Texas and being a private chef in Midland, Texas. Richard was involved in his church and always grew in callings he was presented.
Richard is preceded in death by his son Benjamin Alan Petersen and father Robert Charles Petersen.
Richard is survived by his wife, Karen Petersen, sons Johnathan Petersen and Anthony Petersen, daughter Trista Petersen, extended family, brothers and families Todd & Brenda Petersen, Raymond & Mary Petersen, Randall & Leah Petersen, Sister Cherie and Thad Pannell, and Mother Coralee Petersen.
Pallbearers & Honorary Pallbearers: Christopher Renfro, Raymond Petersen, Randall Petersen, Logan Petersen, Thad Pannell, Marvin Powers, Keith Powers, Johnathan Petersen and, Anthony Petersen.
Memorials may be sent to South Park Funeral Home at 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
