Mrs. Reyes "Gracie" Milstead's Obituary
Reyes (Gracie) Milstead was born in Mexico on June 6, 1915. She married in 1934 and lived in the Harlingen, Texas and surrounding areas until 1947, when she came to Pearland to raise her family.
Reyes had a long healthy life until recently when she suffered a hip injury that caused her rapid decline.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ismael Milstead, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Josephine Cantu, sons, Joe Milstead and wife Eva, Manuel Milstead and wife Carolyn, Ismael Milstead, Jr. and wife Lilly, ER Milstead, Douglas Milstead and Sybil, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two loving sisters, Consuelo Weaver and Dominga Villarreal and her husband, Gilberto, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Harbor Hospice personnel, especially Erica, who was always there for her. A special heart felt thanks to granddaughter, Linda, for all the loving care she provided.
Visitation will be at SouthPark Funeral Home on Thursday June 13, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral service to be held Friday June 14, 2013 at 10 AM. Pallbearers Jimmy Cantu, Joe Martin Milstead, James Milstead, Brian Milstead, David Milstead, Robert Cantu and honorary pallbearer, Linda Martinez.
