In Loving Memory of
Reyes L. Garcia
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mr. Reyes Longoria Garcia on Tuesday October 17th, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born on January 26, 1943, in Beeville, Texas. He graduated from AC Jones High School then joined the United States Air Force in 1963 serving four years then going on to work & retire from the refinery industry. He married the love of his life, Ernestina Paredez Garcia, on December 18th, 1965. The union of almost 58 years was blessed with three handsome sons; Rey Michael, Ricky, and Rene; six grandchildren Rey Michael Jr (wife Kassandra), Hector, Monica, Jacob, Nathan, and Alexandria; and three great grandchildren Scarlett, Adeline, Delilah and one more on the way. He is survived by his wife “Longie”, son Rey Michael (wife, Brenda), son Rene, grandchildren, several brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends and neighbors.
He is predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Maria (Longoria) Garcia; his son Ricky and a few brothers and sisters that have now welcomed him home.
He loved spending time with his wife, their sons, and their families. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and going to the casinos. He also loved giving nicknames to many of his loved ones. If you were close to him, you most likely had a nickname from him and vice versa. We lovingly thank him for so many wonderful memories, all the laughs, his silliness, his humor, his love of family and will always remember those special faces he’d greet us with at each visit.
A visitation will be held on Friday October 27th beginning at 5p and a rosary at 7pm. at South Park Funeral home at 1310 N. Main St. in Pearland.
A catholic mass will be held on Saturday October 28th at noon at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on 5430 W. Ridge Creek Dr., Houston with burial service following at South Park Funeral home in Pearland.
A Celebration of Life will continue post services on Saturday from 4p – 7p at the Pearland Memorial VFW at 4202 W. Walnut St., Pearland.
Honored pallbearers will be Rey Michael Garcia Jr, Hector Garcia, Chevy Rodriguez, Roland Rodriguez, Saif Kaleem, Alvin Garcia Jr.
