Mrs. Reba Jean Kliesing's Obituary
Reba Jean Kliesing, 87, was born on April 17, 1931 in the Harmony Community of Nacogdoches County, Texas to Eugene Eddings and Arma Sula “Suzie” Pitts. She went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2018 in Pearland, Texas. Reba is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Sidney Ray Kliesing, her 4 children; Ray Kliesing, Robert Kliesing, Karen Kliesing, and Larry Kliesing, grandchildren; Christopher Kliesing, Rhiannon Kliesing, Adrienne Kliesing, Kevin Kliesing, and Sydney Ann Kliesing, and a great-grandchild, Cameron Thames. Also surviving are her brothers, Odis and Ken Eddings. Preceding her in death are her parents, a brother, Charles Cleon Eddings, and a grand-child, Jamie Erin Kliesing.
Reba was a 1949 graduate of Pearland High School where she was a member of the cheer squad, a captain of the volleyball team, the class salutatorian, and the homecoming queen.
Reba enjoyed bowling, traveling and reading. She loved music, especially Elvis Presley and George Strait.
Reba was a member of First Baptist Church Pearland for many years and in later years a member of Shadycrest Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Delphian Society for a number of years.
Reba was a charter member of “The Dingy Bunch”, a group of girlfriends from high school that remained lifelong friends and got together regularly. Surviving members of “The Dingy Bunch” are Carleen Nichols Mark and Juanita Stone Sutherland, while Jean Beck Dalmolin and Louise Haskins Wisely are pre-deceased.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 5PM to 8PM at SouthPark Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2PM at SouthPark Funeral Home. Burial will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
