Mr. Raymond Rivera's Obituary
Raymond Michael Rivera was the third of 5 children born to Nicolas Rivera and Juanita Torres in Las Marias de Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Raymond met the Lord and accepted Him into his life at the age of 25. As a child of God, he was able to travel to different countries and share the wonderful news of His Saviour. He longed to be with the Lord and see Him face to face. Raymond was raised as a Catholic but as soon as he accepted the Lord into his life he served the Lord fully. He obeyed the Lord in following His will by getting baptized in water and also received the Holy Spirit. When he was young in the church, he married a christian woman, Virginia. God blessed him with 5 children and 7 grandchildren and one is on the way. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, and friend. Raymond had a great love for the Lord. He had a desire to be with the Lord and be in His presence always. He always wanted to be in the House of God and never wanted to miss a meeting at the church. He read the Word of God every day resulting in reading through the whole Bible twice in a year. Throughout his relationship with the Lord, Raymond had a zeal for the mission field. He enjoyed reaching out to others and sharing from the Word of God. He also enjoyed fellowship with the Lord in songs. A few of his favorite songs were: • "To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, all I ask is to be like Him....."
• "Face to Face..."
• "At the Cross..."
• "Sweet Honey in the Rock..." In his last days, Raymond had visions that Jesus was with him. He saw something beautiful and felt such a peace. He knew his time to see his Saviour was drawing near. He passed away with the servants of God praying for Him and putting him in God's hands which was exactly what he wanted. He went in peace.
