Raquel Maria Rodriguez's Obituary
Maria Raquel Rodriguez was born on January 15, 1939, in Kingsville TX, to Benito Rodriguez and Adelaida Gonzales Rodriguez. Maria left to see our heavenly father at the age of 86, on November 1, 2025 at her home in Willis Tx. She was born as the third child to her parents. She had 4 brothers, Benito Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Ricardo Rodriguez and Santos Rodriguez along with 7 sisters, Nazaria Olivarez, Magarita Soliz, Janie Alvs Carmen Pena, Angelita Pequeno and Rebecca Garcia. She met her Husband Jose Jesus Rivas Rodriguez in Kingsville where they started a family with their first child being a daughter named Juanita Esperanza Rodriguez.
Shortly after, they took their small family to Houston Tx where Raquel started working as a retail associate in order to help provide for the family. That small family grew to 4 more children as the years went on, they had Jose Jesus Rodriguez Jr, Dimas Rafael Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez and Johnny Rodriguez. She was a devoted wife and mother being the root to her family. She was an unmovable, unyielding powerful woman yet at the same time caring and consoling using years of experience to do her absolute best at putting everyone on the right path to the good Lord.
She showed her children that being strong and hardworking, staying the course can get you far in life. Through her, the kids learned to be respectful and giving to those in need, when you can, lend a helping hand but at the same time to not be taken for a fool, she would often say “don’t let them poke your eyes out". She showed her kids all this by being the example. She even went on to teach this to her grandkids Kylie Carrasco, Crystal Ortega, Jessica San Miguel, Jennifer Rodriguez, Becky Gutierrez, Anthony Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez, Amber Rodriguez, Andrew Dousay, Matthew Dousay-Rodriguez (Deceased), Blake (Gavin) Dousay-Rodriguez (Deceased), Lance Dousay-Rodriguez and Kayla Rodriguez. Her memory will carry on through her 20 plus great grandchildren and even a great great grandchild. She will surely be missed by all she shined her light on.
