Raquel Ramirez's Obituary
It is with a broken but joyful heart that we announce our mother’s new home address: Heaven c/o: her Lord and Savior.
Raquel Rodriguez Ramirez, born September 27, 1935, passed into eternity on October 21, 2020 at 8:35pm. She has gone to join her beloved husband of 60 years, Epifanio Ramirez. She is also joining her sons-in law Joe Gonzales and Lloyd Monday, as well as her parents, Diego and Pilar Rodriguez.
Mom was an exceptional lady. She worked constantly to make sure that we had the necessities. Mom was employed as a custodian at Pearland Elementary School and worked cleaning houses for some of the teachers from the district. This resulted in lasting friendships. When she was no longer able to continue this type of work, she would have one of her children take her place. She was also an employee at Pulhn Electric for several years.
Mom and Dad worked for many years in the service of the Lord. You could always find mom in the kitchen at church cooking and selling food to raise funds to build their home church at the time, Bethania in Brookside, TX. They enjoyed singing special hymns at every service. She served as the leader of the youth group, the Women’s Auxiliary, Sunday School teacher and enjoyed helping in whatever capacity necessary.
Her survivors include: Epifanio and Alice Ramirez; Esther Gonzales; Rosa Monday; Mary and Herb Toombs; Emily and John Duncan; Dolores and Frank Bravo; and Paul and Ronda Ramirez. Also surviving her are 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her remaining in-laws, Virginia Rivera and Lucy and Lupe Sanchez as well as many nieces and nephews.
