Rafael Senteno Corona's Obituary
Rafael S. Corona, a resident of Houston, TX, passed away on December 26th at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife, Hermelinda; his brothers Salomon, Albino Juan, and sisters Rita Aguirre, Legoria C. Perez, Yolanda Mata; his children Ariel, Patsy, Sylvia, Rachel, Carla, and Jaime Corona, Marcela, Maria, and Mario Robles. He also had several grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Joaquin and Maria Francisca, and brothers Raul and Canuto. Rafael was born in Ricardo, TX on June 2, 1929 to Joaquin and Francisca Corona. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After serving, he worked at a Houston chemical plant as a boilermaker for42 years, during which time he was recognized for designing and constructing a Tube bundle cleaner, which could clean the inside of the chemical structures. Rafael was a devoted father and was a gifted craftsman. In his free time, he often welded swing sets, motor cars, and furniture for the family, and also carved sculptures of ancient Mesoamerican art. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Flowers and condolences may be offered at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581.
