Quinton Paul Jamison Sr.'s Obituary
Quinton Paul Jamison, 90, of Pearland, Texas passed peacefully in his sleep on September 20, 2012. Quinton was born on Yost Blvd. in Pearland on Feb. 27, 1922. The 11th of 12 children he graduated from PHS in 1941. He was a veteran of WWII serving overseas in England. After the war, he worked briefly for Brown & Root and Brazoria County, before joining his brothers Jake and Bert, rice farming until 1968. He then worked for Brazos River Authority until his retirement in 1987.
He lived his life for Family, the Lions Club, hunting and snow skiing. Preceded in death by siblings Sam, Jake, Jim, Bert, Jean, Verna, Emma & Will, as well as Brother-in-law Gene Shannon; Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law Aleta & Joe Alexander. Survived by brothers Allen of Lake Jackson, Herbert of Pearland & sister Florence Gum of Lubbock. Also survived by his wife Wanda (Shannon) of over 61 yrs, son Paul and wife Vicky Jamison, daughter Cheryl and husband Randy Polak. Grandchildren Brent & wife Onesti Patterson, Ashley, Haley, and Quinton Polak, Jennifer and husband Brian MacDonald. Great grandchildren Brenden, Preston, & Payton MacDonald, Easton and Laney Patterson. He is also survived by sister-in-law Hazel (Shannon) Glasscock and brother-in-law Don Gum, as well as many nieces, nephews & cherished friends.
Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at 12:30 pm at South Park Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to The Lions Children's Camp in Kerrville, Texas, which he strongly supported. Texas Lions Camp, PO Box 290247, Kerrville, TX 78029 in memory of Lion Quinton Jamison, Pearland Lions Club.
