Ponniah Paulraj's Obituary
Paulraj was born in Rangoon, Burma as the 2nd child of Mr. G. A. Ponniah and Mrs. Esther Ponniah. His father was born and brought up in Nagercoil and his mother was raised in a town of Rajamundry, in a Telugu-speaking area. Paulraj met his wife Vimala at a National Missionary Society Camp (NMS) in 1954.
They were married on July 6th, 1959 and were blessed with two boys, Joseph and David and a daughter, Shobi. Paulraj accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the camp in 1954. They came to the US in 1971. He acquired three Masters degrees and a PhD. Paulraj, excelled in math and computer science and he passionately learned about astronomy, physics and religions. He worked as a Computer Consultant and ended his career as a professor at Raritan Community College, NJ. He authored many books in Data warehousing, Data Modeling and other subjects that are published and still being used as textbooks in colleges. He enjoyed painting, reading and writing.
Paulraj, lived a fruitful life serving as an elder/deacon, singing in choir at church and community centers. Paulraj is survived by three children, twelve grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He will be greatly missed.
