Piero Gilbert De Los Reyes Castillo's Obituary
Piero Gilbert de los Reyes Castillo passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2020 at the age of 52 while on a group bike ride in Alvin, TX.
Piero is survived by his wife, Maria ‘Tes’ Castillo; his children, Piero Gilbert Castillo Jr., and Gabrielle Castillo; and his siblings, Bella Jean, Jonathan, Gino, Analiza, May, Anthony, Nolan, Cindy, and Benjamin Jr II. He is predeceased by his parents; and his sibling, Rintzie.
Piero was born in Iloilo City, Philippines on February 26, 1968 to Benjamin Castillo, Jr. and Salvacion de los Reyes. He graduated from the Central Philippine University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 2003, he emigrated to the U.S. to be with his family in Morristown, NJ and then relocated to Pearland, TX in 2008.
Piero was a devoted husband and father, an avid cyclist, and a lifelong tinkerer. He enjoyed the camaraderie the cycling community offered, the challenge that riding provides, as well as the opportunity to meet new people who shared the same passion. He was often found in his garage working on his bikes, his son’s, or his fellow cyclists’. Piero’s interests were not limited to bikes, he enjoyed learning about cars, machines, or anything that had moving parts or had a tendency to break down. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
The Castillo Family would like to express their deepest appreciation and profound gratitude to everyone who has extended their condolences, sympathies, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
