Phoung Duc Nguyen's Obituary
Nguyen Duc Phuong (AKA Bo) was born in Thanh My Tay, Vietnam to Nguyen Duc Ly and Pham Thi Thu Cuc on February 5, 1974. He departed this earthly life on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Phuong spent his early years in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in 1985. He attended James Madison High School from 1988-1991. His family moved to South Houston in the summer of 1991, where he would graduate from South Houston High School in 1992. Phuong attended San Jacinto College and the University of Houston. He worked as a concrete superintendent from 2004-2009. From 2009, he worked as a machinist.
Phuong was confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church on April 10, 2004, and continued his Catholic faith as a parishioner at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, TX for the last 16 years.
Phuong enjoyed fishing, bowling, cooking, and traveling to watch the Astros with his family and friends. Prior to his early departure, he managed to visit 17 MLB stadiums.
Phuong is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jamie Nguyen, daughters, Taylor and Morgan Nguyen, son, Adam Duc Nguyen, granddaughter, Emelia Mendez, parents, Nguyen Duc Ly and Pham Thi Thu Cuc, sisters, Oanh Nguyen-Vo and Cindy Nguyen-Tran, brothers-in-law, Michael Vo and Brian Tran.
