Pennie Jean Newton's Obituary
Pennie Jean Newton, 81, of Galveston, Texas, passed away on May 8, 2023, after a long struggle with COPD.
Pennie was born in Galveston, Texas on September 23, 1941. Pennie was married to Ronald C. Newton on September 23, 1959; they were married until Ronald's passing in 1988. She attended Ball High School in Galveston and Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
Pennie worked as an administrative assistant for Pachar Veterinary in Orange, Texas for 30+ years. She enjoyed animals, music, and arts and crafts.
Pennie is survived by daughter Roni Seely and spouse Tom O'Keefe of McKinney, Texas, brother Curtis McLauchlin of Galveston, brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Elaine McLauchlin of Le Marque, and nieces Charly McLauchlin and Michael Lynn McLauchlin, nephew Ron Newton, and niece Lynn Fair and her husband Don Fair.
Pennie is preceded in death by husband Ronald C. Newton and son Kevin C. Newton, and mother Charlene E. Pittel.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Habitat 4 Paws, a pet rescue group based in Frisco, Texas. The family of Pennie Jean Newton wishes to thank The Kindred Hospital of Clear Lake for the excellent care given to her.
