Peggy Marie Petering Blohm's Obituary
PEGGY MARIE PETERING BLOHM, 86, died May 2, 2024. Preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-nine years Otis Blohm, she is survived by her daughter Audra Lew; grandchild Avery (Karma) Lew; her sister-in-law Peggy Vaclavik (PJ) and her husband Richard; numerous nieces and nephews; and grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Millie Petering, wife to Mrs. Blohm’s late brother Carl Petering as well as several cousins.
Peggy was born in Yoakum Tx. in 1937 to Louis and Ida Petering who owned the Petering Gulf gas station. A Yoakum High School graduate, she was a cheerleader for the Bulldogs. After completing secretarial school, she moved to Houston with her husband Otis, a U.S. Navy Veteran. They settled near the Clear Lake area where she was an instrumental part of the IBM team supporting historic NASA missions. She was very proud of her work and made many lifelong friends.
After retiring as an Executive Secretary, she and Otis joined friends enjoying traditional German music, often catching the Happy Wanderers at their favorite restaurant Tindy's. After her husband's passing Peggy enjoyed time with many local friends and family and could play a mean game of dominos and bunco. She later moved to Maryland to be closer to her only child and grandchild.
Peggy was a dedicated friend and confidant. She was a beloved mom, “Gram,” sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin. Her smile will be missed by all who knew her. She is now free and fully in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Interment of ashes will be at SouthPark Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.
