Mr. Paul A. Staton's Obituary
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17th, 2020, at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas, for Paul A. Staton, 71, beloved husband, father, grandpa (Papa) with the Jeep, who passed away on September 30th, 2020.
A native of Houston, Texas, he was the son of the late James Corbin Staton and the former Jewel DeNova Short. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James R. “Jimmy” Staton.
Mr. Staton graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. After a short career as a high school band director he switched professions to law enforcement where he served as a Peace Officer for more than 37 years and attained the rank of Chief of Police in Liberty, Texas and Captain with Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct Four.
He was well known for his lifetime love of Jeeps since he was a young child. He was well known for his love of music and being proficient at several different instruments. His love of photography led him down the path of crime scene photography where he also taught classes on that subject.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Beth Staton; two sons and their wives, Jason and Vanessa Staton and Adam and Carrie Staton; father in law and mother in law, James Virgil and Barbara Harris; four grandchildren, Nicholas “Cole” Staton, Walker Staton, Abigail Staton, and Levi Staton; sister in law, Judy Staton; two nephews, Howard and Jon Staton; one niece, Juli Staton.
