Paul Jeffrey Clary's Obituary
Paul Jeffrey Clary died January 8, 2026.
Paul was the sweetest, most thoughtful, and loving husband, dog dad, son, and brother. Paul went out of his way to make the lives of the people and dogs around him better.
Paul was born August 30, 1997 at St. Agnes Hospital on the edge of Baltimore, Maryland. But within a few months, Paul was living in Spring, Texas where his family set up their home.
Growing up, Paul loved to participate and watch a variety of sports. Even once sneakily putting a walkie talkie by the TV when it was bedtime so he could listen to the end of a game. Over the years, Paul played baseball, basketball and swam competitively.
Paul was active in Boy Scouts, earning his Eagle Rank when he was just 15. He was an Aggie fan through and through and that led him to follow his dreams and attend Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a degree in Economics and Sports Management.
While at A&M, Paul participated in a variety of activities, but spent most of his time (outside of class, of course) working as a manager on the Aggie Men's Basketball team, including a head manager role his senior year. He grew close friendships, mentorships, and a passion for the life of sports.
More importantly, during his time at A&M, Paul met the love of his life, Jenna Rae Moncrief. They had many adventures together and it was pretty obvious to everyone that marriage was in their future. It didn't take long for her to start planning a future full of love, adventure, and happiness.
Sure enough, on April 3, 2021 Paul and Jenna were married in Scottsdale, AZ. They went back every year to spend time in the place they said "I Do" and make new memories.
After a few job excursions to Austin and then Denver, CO, Paul and Jenna settled down in Houston, close to both of their families. Paul continued his love of sports, staying active, playing golf and working out, and watching every game he could on tv or in person.
Living walking distance to the Astros, Rockets, and Dynamo was a dream, and they got to attend countless games together. Paul traveled to many SEC schools to watch his beloved Aggies play football, Jenna always at his side.
Paul and Jenna fostered several dogs over the years and ultimately adopted two dogs. If it were up to Paul, they would have adopted them all. Paul also got involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Houston and worked passionately with his "little" ultimately being recognized as Big Brother of the Year last year.
Giving back was one of the driving forces in Paul's heart. When his dog Sophie went blind, he had such a positive outlook about it, he said he was glad to get to care for a dog with special needs.
Over the years, Paul was known to stay in touch with family and old friends. He would have a different person in his phone calendar everyday to call on the way home from work. He worked hard to be sure people got birthday wishes, met friends and family routinely for dinner and fun.
He was the kind of person who always looked to put everyone else in a good spot. Paul is survived by his wife Jenna Clary, parents Jeffrey and Dana Clary, Grandparents Dan and Tena Neskora.
He also leaves behind his brother Scott Clary and wife Kendal and nephew Luca Clary; and sister Suzanne (Clary) Barrenechea and husband Andy and nephews/nieces John Paul, Auggie, Ginny, Peter, Leo and Kate Barrenechea. Paul also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins, parents-in-law, and dear friends, all of whom will deeply miss Paul.
